Santa’s Arrival – Downtown Acworth
Date: Friday, December 2nd - 6:45 pm
Event Details: The chorus will be performing their holiday music for “Santa’s arrival” in downtown Acworth on Friday, December 2nd. Along with our musical performance, there will be face painting, marshmallow roasting, lighting the tree on Main Street, and Mayor Tommy Allegood will read “the Night Before Christmas.” The festivities begin at 5:30 pm. If you want to take a picture with Santa, you can arrive at 5:15 pm to schedule a time. There will not be a photographer onsite, so plan on bringing your camera to capture the special moment.
Arrive: 6:45 pm. Plan to park no later than 6:45 pm so you will have time to walk to the performing area by 7:15 pm.
Dress: This is an outdoor performance. Students should wear their chorus dress clothes, but may wear coats, jackets, or sweaters as needed.
Performance Time/Location: 7:30 pm. The performance stage is located outside, behind Henry’s Louisiana Restaurant at the intersection of Senator Russel Avenue and Dallas Street.
Students should meet at the performance area behind Henry’s Louisiana Grill Restaurant. Henry’s is located at 4835 N Main St, Acworth, GA 30101.
Parking: Parking will be limited downtown for this event. Parking is available at Acworth First Baptist Church located at 4583 Church Street Acworth, GA 30101. It is about a ten-minute walk from the church to the performing area on Main Street. From the church parking lot, go to Main Street and go right (south) toward downtown Acworth.
Directions To Acworth First Baptist Church Parking from Lewis: Take Cobb Parkway (Hwy 41) north past Mars Hill Road. Take a right at Highway 92 going north (Quick Trip on the corner). Go about 1.5 miles then take the ramp toward downtown Acworth. Turn right on Old 41 Hwy. This turns into Main Street. The parking lot of the church will be on your right.
